Asociacion de Apicultores y Caficultores de Union Cantinil (AAPICUC) was established in 2011 with a mission to support producers in environmentally-friendly organic coffee farming. The association's members tend to small plots, averaging around 3 hectares, situated at elevated terrains ranging from 1,300 to 2,000 meters above the sea.

Those affiliated with AAPICUC wear dual hats: they're coffee cultivators and beekeepers. While coffee plants have the ability to self-pollinate without the aid of bees or avian species, the presence of bees can amplify the yield by an impressive 20 to 25%.
